Successful field test paves way for launch of BoMill InSight

26 January 2023, 10:00 CET

Following its successful industrial field-testing phase, the Swedish agritech company BoMill AB launches BoMill InSight™, the first equipment of its kind, capable of sorting individual grains on their inner properties, at large industrial capacity. The equipment allows for more efficient supply and use of grain raw materials, reduces waste and helps increase food safety.

“The grain value chain faces many challenges and must find new ways to be more sustainable, reducing crop losses while improving supply and process efficiency. BoMill InSight™ gives the opportunity to increase the profitability of grain processors in a sustainable way.” says Andreas Jeppsson, CEO of BoMill AB.

After over six months of industrial tests, the stability of the sorting, the overall robustness and capacity of the BoMill InSight™ solution have been confirmed, allowing its immediate commercial launch. Besides the new sorting opportunities that the equipment offers to grain processors, customers have also noted its ease of operation which is also crucial when bringing this new technology to the market. Moving ahead with the launch, the sales and marketing plan is now being rolled out and will involve further BoMill’s partners.

Prior of the launch, two orders have already been received for BoMill InSight™. The first one from the leading mobile grain processor in Scandinavia, GL. BUURHOLT, is scheduled to be delivered during Q1 2023. The second order recently received from Europe’s largest milling group, GOODMILLS GROUP, is planned to be delivered during Q2 2023.

BoMill InSight™ at a glance

BoMill InSight™ is BoMill’s latest advanced grain sorting solution and the only one of its kind, capable of segregating kernel by kernel, at industrial speed (up to 15 metric tons per hour – 125,000 kernels per second), on grains’ inner qualities such as protein content or fusarium contamination.

The equipment aims towards grain industrial companies with a sustainability agenda, willing to further optimize their grain supply while enhancing quality of their products. This includes grain producers (e.g. large cooperative, grain elevators) as well as processors such as flour mills and malt producers.

The revolutionary modular approach of BoMill InSight™ offers maximum flexibility for operations and easy upgradability. Its smart frame design and compact footprint allow easy and rapid installation in new or existing grain processing lines. And with its economic installation, operation, maintenance and upgradability, BoMill InSight™ is also cost-efficient, allowing fast return on investment to customers.
