BoMill joins Terrra Food & Agtech Accelerator
28 September 2018, 19:05 CET
Selected to team up with multinational leaders including Nestle, GrainCorp and Tate & Lyle to fuel ground-breaking transformation in Food and Agriculture.
Malmö – September 25, 2018: TERRA, the leading Food and Agriculture Accelerator, has selected BoMill into its third cohort kicking off next week at the San Francisco – near the tech campus of program founder RocketSpace – one of the program’s founding partners. BoMill was selected as one of the 17 most innovative startups from across the globe to work alongside industry giants including founding partner Rabobank, as well as AgroFresh, Beta San Miguel, Graincorp, Griffith Foods, Grupo Azuca de Mexico, Nestle, OSI and Tate & Lyle. BoMill will be focused on quality sorting of durum wheat and malt barley by using their proprietary near-infrared technology transmittance (NIT) where every single kernel is sorted to its’ internal properties e.g. protein.
Founded in 2016, TERRA is a global innovation accelerator fuelling ground breaking transformation in Food & Agriculture in order to advance the well-being of our people and our planet. The program brings together experts, decision-makers, and innovators across the entire value chain – fostering connections that catapult major breakthroughs into scalable solutions by pairing emerging growth companies with established multinationals, in a pilot-driven engagement that leads to tangible results.
“We are very proud of being selected as one of the “most innovative startups in the field”, by TERRA Food & Agtech Accelerator. BoMill will prove the possibility to unlock the full potential and thereby capture the true value of the grain as well as contributing to a more sustainable grain industry. As long as you have quality variation there is a hidden value to be captured. We are very excited about being a part of this program and the impressive network within TERRA, says Karin Wehlin, Managing Director of BoMill.
The TERRA team reviewed hundreds of applications from emerging growth companies around the world, shortlisting 160 applicants for only 17 spots. Startups selected represent eight countries. Unlike other accelerators, TERRA does not require equity from selected start-ups. They must have a product in market/ready to launch and have raised a minimum of seed-funding, better positioning them for productive pilot partnerships with corporate collaborators. BoMill is an emerging technology company challenging the grain business.
